The Secret Behind a Healthy, Powerful Voice!

Hi,

Today I found a little bit of time before starting my sessions to explain how to use the tools.

You all have the tube. Mine is slightly different, but it does the same thing. As coaches, ours are a bit different because we carry them around, but they serve the same purpose. The tube is the silicone one, okay? This is what you use for your warm-up.

Warm-ups are extremely important. If you don’t take care of your warm-up and properly prepare your vocal cords, they will not function well.

So it’s not something you only do during lessons, it must also be done at home. You cannot start practicing if you haven’t warmed up, okay?

When we introduced the singing straw, which is this one, yours is smaller than ours, we gave it to you so you can use it as a workout tool.

Let me give you an example. I hear many singers who, unfortunately, when they go for a high note, instead of blending and transitioning smoothly, they push the note in a harsh way. That is not nice.

That’s where there is a risk of straining your vocal cords.

The beauty of singing is in the blending, just like an artist blending colours in a painting.

This is where you use the straw to learn how to create that beautiful mixed voice.

If you struggle with nasal sound, we work on eliminating it. If you are trying to extend your range, especially higher notes, we do it using this tool.

It doesn’t take long, just a few minutes. It’s a workout, but it’s very effective.

So this is the second tool you use after the tube.

If you are coming for a session, ideally you would have already done your tube warm-up in the car or at home, so that with your tutors you can focus on the straw work.

If you haven’t started using it yet, speak to your tutors so you can begin immediately. I always ask and check during review sessions to make sure everyone is using these tools correctly.

So it’s very important that you use both of these tools.

Recently, I also spoke to you about deep breathing, using the deep breathing necklace. This is phenomenal.

Many singers think they know how to breathe, but with this, you learn control.

So how do we practice breathing?

When you inhale, your stomach should expand outward. When you exhale, your stomach naturally moves inward.

This is how you learn to breathe properly. When you sing, this will start to happen automatically.

The deep breathing necklace can be used both for breathing practice and for calming yourself.

If you feel anxious before going on stage, you use it slightly differently but it’s the same tool.

You inhale through your nose, close your eyes, and exhale slowly through the necklace.

Automatically, you will start to relax.

So before going on stage, or if you feel nervous or excited, you can use it to control your breathing.

It’s one tool that helps both with breathing technique and staying calm.

Now, when you ask me about the other products we have, the Vocal Recovery Drops have been improved.

I can assure you they are healthy, herbal, and work instantly. They help clean the vocal cords, especially if you feel irritation.

You should mix them with warm tea, syrup, or honey. Do not take them on their own.

Once your drink is ready, mix it well, add two small drops, a bit of syrup or honey. If you want to drink it quickly, add a little cold water, otherwise sip it slowly.

It works immediately to clear the vocal cords and helps with any nasal congestion.

If you are preparing for a performance and need to stay hydrated, we also have VocalEase.

During that week, and even a few minutes before singing, using the nebulizer helps hydrate the cords and clear any buildup.

If you are recovering or feeling unwell, using both together is extremely effective.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t take medication if you’re sick, of course not. But this helps you recover faster and keeps your voice in the best condition, especially before important performances.

I hope this video was helpful. All of these products are available on the website.

If you have any questions, always feel free to ask.

Bye 🤍
