Taking Care of Your Voice, Read This Carefully

My darlings,
Your voice is your instrument, and just like any instrument, it needs care, awareness, and respect.
Here are a few important things I want every single one of you to understand:
1. Listen to the early signs
If your voice feels tired, tight, breathy, or uncomfortable, do not ignore it. Your body always gives you signals before something becomes serious.
2. If something feels wrong, stop
Pushing through is not strength, it is damage. Pause, rest, and speak to your coach or technique tutor immediately.
3. Vocal rest is not just silence
True rest means no singing, minimal talking, good hydration, and allowing the voice to recover properly. Whispering is not rest.
4. Recovery is emotional too
It is frustrating when you cannot sing the way you want. That is normal. Be patient with yourself and trust the process.
5. Rebuilding must be done safely
Coming back too quickly will only set you back again. Follow your technique work, use your straw exercises, and rebuild step by step.
6. Healthy habits make the difference
Warm up properly, never skip your technique, stay hydrated, rest well, and respect your limits especially before performances.
Your voice is part of who you are. Protect it, respect it, and take responsibility for it.
I am always here to guide you, but you must meet me halfway.
With love,
Ms G 🤍
