Hi Fam <3 Apologies for the delay, but I want to share some thoughts and news with you now that the assessments are done and dusted.
We had a very intense assessment days, and I can honestly say that this is probably the first time we experienced assessments similar to external exams, just on a smaller scale of course. You didn’t have set pieces, but it was very clear that this format was beneficial for our singers.
I’m planning to keep this format. Assessments will take place once every year and a half, because in between we do the annual show or other assessments, just so you understand how we work.
The examiners I had were not just vocal coaches. Kaya, for example, is also someone who works worldwide, helping guide singers towards studying abroad. She is a very important person in the music industry, especially connected to the UK, which is an area I personally haven’t fully explored yet.
Thanks to these assessments, some beautiful opportunities are coming out of this. There are singers she selected, and she is even offering to discuss scholarships for some of them, which is something truly special.
The singers who will be on the list, which I will send in the Level One board later tonight or tomorrow, will have an initial online meeting with Kaya. She will explain the plan for the singers she selected.
Not everyone is on the same path. She saw potential in these singers. She also saw potential in others, but mentioned that some may need a bit more time to develop.
I accepted this opportunity for those she selected. For example, she identified singers suited for musical theatre, and others who could even go on to complete a Master’s degree. The good thing is that all of this learning can also be done online, so you won’t need to travel or relocate.
There will be the option to study these courses online, and we as mentors will support you throughout.
So there are different opportunities. As I mentioned, some may even receive scholarships, meaning everything would be fully covered.
I feel truly honoured. What I will do now is finalise the list together with the admin team. Please bear with me, as I have a lot going on at the moment.
From there, we will move forward step by step. Kaya will guide us on when you can have your online meeting with her, and you can then decide if this is something you would like to pursue.
Well done to everyone, and well done to your tutors. And thank you to everyone who in any way made these assessments possible.
